THE NEW BIRTH II

Marshall Unduemi       Sunday 7 May 2017

The dominion of spiritual death has ever been the enemy of human down through the ages. All sentient things are essentially born by the same stern law as it governs the human. That is, Satan breathed his cursed nature to the human, animal and vegetable kingdoms (Rom. 8:2023, Gen. 3:18-19). Under this powerful spiritual death, all groan and travail in pain. The vulture feeds on a timid prey and thinks all is well. But the eagle descends and tears the vulture to shreds. The eagle in turn is transfixed in man's trap. Man in a battlefield becomes the food of ravenous birds. Christ was sent from Heaven by God to solve this catastrophe by Redeeming man from Satan's rulership (Isa. 61:1-4, Heb.2:14), and restoring to man his lost glory and all sonship rights. What is man's condition today?

1.  Explain Rom. 8:1 with emphasis on “who  walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit”.
1. Man lost the medium through which he contacted God following Adam's High Treason and the entry of spiritual death into man's spirit. Man is now ruled by his flesh, senses (Gen. 6:3, Gal. 5:19- 21). Man has lost his approach to God and has forfeited his legal standing and he has become a citizen of a foreign king-Satan; without hope, without life, and without God (Eph. 2:12, Eph. 2:1-3). The image of God the Father is erased, and the image of Satan is penciled into man's spirit characterized by lie which is the mark of satanic dominion in the earth today (John 8:44). Man is condemned because of this enemy image in man's spirit (Rom. 5:12, 18). Satan's image in man's spirit is characterized by a tail like that of the wolf, a three-squared iron written devil on either face, some reddish plastic serpents that terminate at the heart with the tails projecting through the head. By the abundance of revelations God has given unto me through grace, my spirit sees the human spirit and the demon host because Father God has opened the eyes of my inner man or the hidden man of the heart (the human spirit).

The substitutional redemption plan swings on this fact that Father God now frees the human spirit from Satan’s dominion, give man back his image for re-union, reconciliation, and fellowship (Lk. 4:18-19, John 10:10, 28). Christ perfectly accomplished this work (Philip. 2:5- 11).

Now to them that take Jesus Christ as Lord and Saviour are as a matter of force free from Devil dominion. Why is it then that millions of people who take Jesus Christ as Lord and Saviour are spiritual failures. The reason is simple. Man is a three fold being of body (the house for man), soul (the sensibilities) and the spirit (the real man). Christ as well as Paul make their listeners believe that it is the human spirit that is born again (John 6:63, Rom. 8:10, 2Cor. 3:6, Gal. 5:22, 25). But millions of
the so-called believers know Christ in the flesh (2Cor. 5:16). And know this also that all known sins are committed through members of the body because they are in physical contact with the world and have ascendancy over the unrecreated spirit (Gal. 5:19-21). See this illustration; here is a tree with its branches, which is the man who knows Christ in the flesh (sense) with his old man (spirit with devil nature or with unrenewed mind) intact. Such people are described as having worldly sorrow (2Cor. 7:10). He holds himself on lying, fornication, extortion etc. (Gal. 5:19- 21) that is, the branches of the tree are cut. But the rains descends, the tree feeds, and the branches grow back. But if such people are converted to God (John 12:40, Lk. 22:31-32), and not to a church doctrine, God can heal them of their devil nature and through the grace they have received, they can now repent and receive the gift of the Holy Spirit (John 14:17) to recreate the human spirit. This means that the recreated spirit has ascendancy over flesh (sense). This is when it is said that one is ruled by his recreated spirit (Gal. 5:22-24). Faith is also one of the products of the recreated human spirit. Note the word Brother Paul speaks of in Gal. 5:17, is a battle between your own flesh (senses) and your spirit and not your flesh with the Holy Spirit. Only such people can echo Philip. 4:13 and can endure all temptations and tribulations. And these are the only people who have passed from God's condemnation as well as Satan's dominion (Rom. 8:1). These are born from above (1John 3:9). The early apostles of Christ should be good examples of fleshly Christians and spiritual Christians; Peter sinking in the sea (Matt. 14:29-30) and Peter fighting on behalf of Christ with a sword. Let the reader make a chart of the activities of the apostles before and after recreation by the Holy Spirit-use the materials on trying the spirits III and other relevant scriptures from the bible.

2.  What is the correct application of the Word Backslide?
2. Backslide literally translated, as turning away from God cannot apply in Christianity. It is a word that applies only to “Servants” (Lev. 25:55). When man fell and “Fellowship” was broken, God worked out the redemption plan to call man out of the great commotion, discord, selfishness, and of the bitterness of Spiritual Death into fellowship with Father God. This is the testimony of God in 1Cor. 1:9 “God is faithful by whom ye are called unto the fellowship of His Son Jesus Christ our Lord”. The heart secret of God in creating man was fellowship; the secret behind the redemption was fellowship. God could not fellowship with the old man on the basis of master-servant relationship. Redemption makes men and women, sons and daughters of God as He recreated and imparted His own nature to them so that there could be a perfect fellowship. Backsliding, therefore, is a term that applied in the Old Testament and not on the New: that is on the basis of sons and daughters. Therefore breaking of fellowship is the right word for the New Testament.1John 1:9 is a gold mine for those out of fellowship. “If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to
cleanse us from all unrighteousness”. The next verse explains God's point. “If we say that we have not sinned, and yet are out of fellowship with God, we make God a liar and the truth is not in us. Being in darkness is in this wise. Broken fellowship can be restored the moment you confess that sin to God. He forgives and forgets and is stamped out of memory. If broken fellowship is not restored instantly, spiritual wreckage follows and one steps back to darkness (1John 1:5). He that loveth his brother abideth in the light, but he that hateth his brother is in darkness (1John 2:10-11). This darkness is the darkness of broken fellowship that has blinded his eyes.  The conscientious bible student should discover now that 1John 1 generally is not for those in fellowship with God, but for those out of fellowship. 1John 2:1 however, concerns God's children in the sweetest of fellowship. 1John 5:18 and 1John 2:1 are in perfect harmony. The
literal translations of these verses are: a Christian keeps himself unspotted in the world and that wicked one does not touch him. But 1John 2:1 adds, “If any sin, we have an advocate, God's family lawyer, Jesus the Righteous. Now compare this with 1John 5:16, “Sin unto death and Sin not unto Death”. Sin not unto death is in this wise; before we came to Christ, we all lie under the embrace of the devil and with his nature in us, we were his children. Now we have passed from death unto life and are taught of God's kingdom's laws, and the running of his government, and by Grace this law is written in our hearts (Jer. 31:33, 2Cor. 3:3). Then through lust and vain glory one gets himself entangled again in the world. He accepts chieftaincy title or is working towards it. Or from town, age group, club meetings he is getting himself entangled in idol worship. Then he that is spiritual draws him out of this and prays for him (1John 5:16). Again, God knowing man's passion allows man the right to rebuke and restrain from which anger may develop (Eph. 4:26). Now if a brother's anger is extending beyond sun down, he can be prayed for and brought back to life. These cases are sin not unto death.  Sin unto death means that if any brother commits a presumptuous sin, that is, something God hates which you know from His law, there is every likelihood for such a person to step into darkness (Ps. 19:13, Heb. 10:26, Deut. 17:12). Stepping into darkness means going out of fellowship with God and coming in union with the devil (2Peter 2:20-22, 1John 1:6). Let the reader make these scriptures as daily digest (James 1:13-15, Rom. 6:1, 1Peter 4:17-19, Job 9:29).
CONCLUSION:  Obey the Father of all spirits; Honour the surety of the New Covenant and live (Heb. 12:9). Read your bible daily.
